Dr. Niko Alzate graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, having done her preclinical studies in the Caribbean islands of St. Kitts and Nevis and her clinical rotations at Oregon State University. Dr. Alzate is a California native, born and raised in the Valley, with her 3 siblings. Dr. Alzate always had a love for animals since she was a young girl, which she attributes to not only her own pets growing up, but also to watching Steve Irwin on Animal Planet on a regular basis. Dr. Alzate’s aspirations are to advocate and provide a voice for those creatures that we love, and that can’t speak on their own behalf. She is also interested in holistic/integrative medicine, as well as conservation/wildlife medicine. She is currently pursuing a certification in veterinary acupuncture, to also be able to provide that service in the near future.

Dr. Alzate’s hobbies include going to the beach, playing or watching soccer, and going to concerts or live music. She also loves spending time with family and friends and enjoying time outside in nature
